lest we forget

We celebrate anzac day every 25 April. But why is it considered our most inportpornt National occasion. The Anzacs or the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Were the brave soldiers that stood,fort and died during the first world war that started in 1914. At that time Australia had been under the control of the british empire for 13 years and New Zealand for 7 years. In 1915 Australia and New Zealand became witness to the new army of volunteered soldiers. The brave soldiers that went to the Gallipoli Peninsula. To claim Constantinople the capital of the otmin empire and the German allies. The anzacs landed on April 25. But the ottoman turks were ready for the attack. The soldiers new that wining knew in posibill nether les they fight for 8 moths. New Zealand had lost 8,000 lives in 8 months. The end of 1915 marked the end of the battle for the anzacs they were successfully evacuated by the british. Lest we forget.
